Pregnancy comes with a lot of changes in your life and body. One of the most common complains is about nausea during pregnancy, known as morning sickness.

Many pregnant women experience nausea during first stages of pregnancy, but it can last until the third trimester.  The reason of the morning sickness is linked to the production of HCG hormone ( human chorionic gonadotropin) and to the raise of estrogen during pregnancy.

Also, my doctor told that nausea is the result of the battle of the body with a foreign “object” (the baby) in it. And until the pregnancy is stable, the body is trying to eliminate what doesn’t recognize of being part of it.

Morning sickness is a terrible period of pregnancy, but it will pass and don’t even remember it. Nausea can appear due to a smell you don’t like, due to heat or even when you cook your favorite food.

I must say that I was a happy expectant mother, because I had a really easy pregnancy with just a few episodes of morning sickness. I survived to nausea during pregnancy with some simple tricks that worked really good. You need to try to see what’s working best for you.

 

 

 

 

1. Sparkling water with fresh lemon juice

 

 

This mix worked great for me. After drinking a glass of cold sparkling water with the juice of a lemon I felt better in a couple of minutes.

 

 

 

2. Ginger

 

 

Ginger is a popular remedy for nausea. At the same time, is safe for pregnant women and can be consumed in many ways. You can bake cookies with ginger, make tea or even grated fresh and add to water.

 

 

 

3. Milk

 

 

For some expectant mother, milk worked to reduce nausea due to the enzymes that contain.

 

 

 

 

4. Fresh air

 

 

Make sure that you always have fresh air in your room. This will surely work to reduce morning sickness.

 

 

 

5. Peppermint

 

 

Aroma therapy with peppermint it will help reduce nausea during pregnancy. Also, you can drink peppermint tea or chew peppermint leaves. The smell of mint is pleasant and helps getting over the vomiting sensation.

 

 

 

6. Apple cider vinegar

 

 

Drink a glass of cold water mixed with a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and a tablespoon of honey. This helps neutralize the gastric acid in the stomach.

 

 

7. Kiwi

 

 

Kiwi is a great fruit that works with nausea during pregnancy. You can eat it or you can prepare a smoothie with kiwi, banana and blueberries.

 

 

 

8. Cumin

 

 

Cumin seeds work great with vomiting sensation. Boil some water with a few cumin seeds and drink it.

 

 

 

 

Morning sickness is normal during pregnancy and it doesn’t affect the baby, nor the mother. If the sensation of vomiting is really nasty, you should probably to talk to your doctor to give you some supplements or some natural pills for nausea.
